Charles had a roughchildhood, and wasnt liked by other students due to his fragile body.Thats why he always preferred reading books instead of playingphysical games. Much of Dickens hard spiritedness is expressed in his novels. The 39th chapter is a pivotal chapter because he uses it as a greatchanging and turning point. Dickens reminds us of Pipssituation the readers feel that an important thing is about to happen.At this point Pip is feeling disheartened and Dickens uses dark climateto project his feelings. When Dickens uses this to project pipssituation the readers feel sorry for Pip and can comprehend what hisgoing through. Using the stick out conditions gives Dickens anotheraspect on how Pip feels. The language is altered to the other chapters becausethis one is fill up with tension. As Dickens generates tension thereaders anxiety and strain also builds up thus making the readersmore concentrated into the book. Dickens makes the wedge andtension last a long time using the long sentences and words to keepthe readers more intrigued. The atmosphere changes and it becomessilent because no ones ready for whats about to hit them.
